Sopheap Pich presents a series of wall-bound grid structures made of bamboo, rattan, burlap, natural and artificial pigments, damar resin, beeswax, metal wire. This current series continues to explore the artist’s essential interest in how materials can be animated by a sense of the intangible. Jakkai Siributr presents a series of tapestries that consist of thousands of Buddhist Amulets crocheted with hemp and synthetic fibers, and sewn onto canvas. This series, which was shown at Art Basel Hong Kong 2014, continues to explore interconnected themes of animism and Buddhism. |
