UNEXPECTATION/REALITY

H Project Space is very pleased to announce a video installation by Pasut Kranrattanasuit, an award-winning artist and graduate of Goldsmiths, University of London.

Unexpectation/Reality was prompted by the devastating floods in Thailand during 2011. Pasut is interested in the epic sense of shared experience that the floods created: between victims, escapees, those who waited out the crisis and those who sought to find a resolution. All were united by freighted expectations about the unpredictable movement of the flows, the challenge of protecting ourselves and how quickly the panic and damage could be resolved.

Pasut asks, "Chaos and confusion confronted us and we were forced to switch between dealing with our expectations, avoiding our expectations or pushing them on to others. Which did we ultimately choose?”

Pasut Kranrattanasuit is based in Bangkok and exhibits internationally, including exhibitions at 100 Tonson Gallery (2011), Bangkok, Woburn Square Gallery (2007), London, the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux-Arts (2005), Paris and the Academia di Belle Arti di Firenze (2004), Florence. Pasut was awarded a gold medal for sculpture at The 47th National Art Competition in Thailand and is the recipient of a Royal Thai Government research scholarship.
